Duchesne County High School Sports Highlight/Athlete of the Week

High School athletes in Duchesne County have been giving their all as the fall seasons amp up. The Altamont Longhorn football team beat Monticello on Friday with a final score of 15 to 13. The Duchesne County athlete spotlight this week goes to Longhorn football player Wyatt Jessen. Wyatt plays offensive left guard and defensive nose tackle. About Friday’s success, he said, “It was their homecoming and we haven’t beat that team in years so it felt pretty good to win.” Wyatt is a senior this year. Altamont Volleyball hosted Duchesne Tuesday. Duchesne volleyball came out on top in the Freshman, JV, and Varsity games. The Tabiona Tigers baseball team hosted the West Ridge Fighting Eagles Tuesday and won the first game but lost the second. They also traveled to Telos Academy and won both games. Union High Girls Tennis team took on the Providence Hall Patriots on Tuesday for their last home match. Mariah Law, Lyndee Miller, Savanna Price, Avery Stevens, Kodilynn Perry, Analee Birchell, Kaitlyn Southam, and Taylor Pippert each secured wins.
