The Duchesne County Commissioners want to hear from the citizens of Duchesne County as they go through the process of updating the 2025 Duchesne County General Plan. The Commissioners visited the Evans Family Media studios to discuss the General Plan and how the community can get involved. “Our master plan guides our planning into the future so we hope to have input from all parts of the county,” shared Commissioner Greg Miles. “We want citizen input. This is their general plan and the more we can engage them and get their input the better plan we will have.” Commissioner Jeff Chugg agreed. “We need everybody’s thoughts on this,” he said. “This is going to be a living 30 year document. This will guide transportation decisions, potential railway impacts, water impacts…Anything that concerns Duchesne County we need to know about.” There is a website for Duchesne County citizens to go and fill out a survey right now and then a public comment period will open after the draft of the General Plan comes out. The interview with the Commissioners discussed the estimated growth when the Uinta Basin Railway is constructed as well as other challenges facing the county. Listen to the entire interview at BasinNow.com and select ‘Public Affairs’ under the ‘Community’ tab. In Commissioner Tracy Killian’s words, everyone’s input is important because “we don’t want this to be the Commissioner’s plan…We want it to be the citizen’s plan.” Visit DuchesneGP2025.com to learn more and to take the survey right away.
