The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office had a very special guest on Tuesday to kick off a new program aimed at keeping community members safe. Project Lifesaver is a search and rescue program used around the globe by public safety agencies that utilizes cutting edge technology to locate its participating members who are typically “at risk” individuals prone to wandering off. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office decided to implement the program after being approached by a local mother who heard about Project Lifesaver after a scare in the St. George area where her autistic son had become lost and authorities recommended the program to them. That very boy, 8-year-old Camden Rienhardt of Duchesne, is now the very first member of the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver program. Camden received a special bracelet on Tuesday that will allow deputies to find him more quickly if he wanders off in the future.
