Duchesne and Uintah County are among the lucky recipients of newly announced grant money through the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced the awards on Friday stating that the $4 million dollars in grant funding will create an estimated $32.7 million dollar impact statewide. Duchesne County was one of just four counties this round to be receiving an award from the Office of Outdoor Recreation for the first time. 84 applications were submitted and 58 projects were awarded with amounts ranging from $3,000 dollars to $150,000 dollars. “The Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant supports vital outdoor recreation projects in the state of Utah,” shares Val Hale, executive director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “As more Utahns enjoy the state’s natural assets, it has become more important to support our local communities. We are proud to be a catalyst for these outdoor improvements.”
