Dry Fork Pile Burns

by | Mar 15, 2018 | News | 0 comments

The Bureau of Land Management is implementing another day of burning in Dry Fork Canyon north of Vernal. Today, March 15th, burning will be ongoing to reduce hazardous fuels in the wildland urban interface in the Canyon. “By minimizing the amount of hazardous fuels on public lands, we are improving land health and diminishing the risk of intense, large-scale fires that can threaten public safety and cause extensive property damage,” shares Green River District Fuels Specialist Hank Barela. The BLM plans to burn about 50 acres of piles, while weather is permitting. Smoke and burning visible in Dry Fork is no cause for concern. Fire trucks and a crew remain on hand throughout the process. If anyone has questions, please call
