Dry Fork Fire 100% Contained

The Dry Fork Fire is now 100% contained. The Dry Fork Fire was called in on March 24th, located east of Red Cloud Loop Road on BLM land in Uintah County. While initially estimated to be up to 50 acres in size, more accurate mapping revealed that, thanks to fire suppression efforts on the ground and in the sky, the Dry Fork Fire remained in its initial footprint of 24 acres. Something for the public to note moving forward is that the National Weather Service is reminding all to be watchful for announcements of Red Flag Warnings. A Red Flag Warning does not necessarily mean there is a fire, but that conditions will be very dry and windy and that if a fire is present, it can become extreme. Always avoid activities that could spark a wildfire!
