A Tridell man is facing a felony charge for running from police after an officer attempted to pull him over for speeding in Uintah County. According to the Probable Cause Statement, on or about January 19th, an officer observed a vehicle traveling 80 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone. The officer turned behind the vehicle and activated his lights and siren but the driver failed to stop and actively evaded the officer. The driver ran through a solid red light and multiple stop signs at a high rate of speed to escape the officer and did, in the end, elude the officer. Later, the vehicle and driver, 18 year old Jason McKee, were located and McKee admitted that he had been the driver and that he had fled when the officer attempted to stop him. He is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Failure to Stop at the Command of Police and Misdemeanor Reckless Driving.
