Downtown Revitalization Committee Update and Request for Support

Downtown Vernal has plenty of advocates including the Downtown Revitalization Committee. According to Committee Chairman Pete Morphy, brackets are currently being designed to add blade signs to downtown. “The brackets will incorporate dinosaurs and businesses will have their signs on display making it easier for people walking and driving downtown to find the businesses,” shares Morphy. “The other project we are doing is trying to get dinosaur bike racks downtown. One of the best locations would be the library. Kids will want to ride their bikes to the library to park at the dinosaur bike rack.” The Committee has arranged with the welding department at Uintah Basin Technical College to donate their time to make the bike racks, just leaving the cost for the supplies. Morphy says each rack is estimated to cost $600 to $1300 dollars depending on design and sponsors are being sought to fund the project. Individuals or businesses interested in donating or sponsoring this project are asked to contact Pete Morphy at
