A downed power line in Uintah County left many without power over the weekend. A rumor online that a car had crashed into a power pole causing the accident proved to be false. Authorities shared that the outage was actually due to the weather. Equipment malfunctioned and blew and the power line fell down causing a fire down from the power substation on 500 North in Maeser. Power was eventually restored.
