The community is backing up a great cause in Duchesne County. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is selling raffle tickets for a whole pig with a freezer included. The proceeds are going to the Duchesne County K9 unit. Tickets can be purchased off a link on the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page or by calling

719-429-3551

. The last day to purchase tickets will be
March 1st.
If you decide not to buy raffle tickets but still want to make a donation to the K9 unit you can follow the example of a generous local couple. Arlinda and Brad Holthus were in a serious accident in 2016 during which Deputy Tim Adams, who is now the handler of K9 Helix, was among those that responded to the crash. In response to the effort to raise funds for the K9 unit, the Holthuses have donated $500 dollars towards the program as a way to thank the deputies and troopers that helped them in their time of need.
