Domestic Dispute Ends In Arrest For Assault And Methamphetamine

A domestic dispute at a residence in Vernal ended in arrest on Saturday. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 62-year-old Wade Simonton was arrested after officers responded to a complaint that a woman had been struck and knocked down during an argument. After interviewing those involved and those present in the home, officers determined that Simonton had used unlawful force with intent to cause bodily injury and was placed under arrest. During the arrest, a plastic pipe with white crystalline residue was found in Simonton’s pocket. He admitted he used the pipe to consume methamphetamine. Simonton was booked into Uintah County Jail for the offenses of Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
