Dollar Ridge Fire Update; Victims Can Now Apply For Assistance

The Dollar Ridge Fire is reported at 68,480 acres and remains at 90 percent containment. Fire officials say that “there are large unburned pockets well within the perimeter of the fire that will continue to burn, possibly until the area receives significant rain or the first snow falls. There also remains some potential for spot fires if extremely high winds develop and carry embers over the existing line.” Firefighters are focused on widening the lines along the fire perimeter. Of interest to the victims of the Dollar Ridge Fire, applications are now being accepted for financial support from the Dollar Ridge Fire Assistance Fund. Applications are available online at
