The combined efforts of a long list of individuals and sponsors made something amazing happen this weekend, all to benefit Uintah Basin residents who are trying to rebuild since the Dollar Ridge Fire destroyed their homes and property. The two-day Dollar Ridge Fire-Aid Fair kicked off
on Friday afternoon
with a Radio-thon broadcast on Eagle Country 105.5 KLCY and streamed by Channel V6. The event ran for 5 hours, auctioning off over 70 items or services donated by sponsors. While an exact total is still being tabulated, the radio-thon raised an amazing $25,000 dollars thanks to citizens opening their hearts and pocketbooks to bid on the donated auction items. Announcers Mike Stengel and James Costello knocked it out of the park with their professionalism and all involved were thrilled by the phone calls that came pouring in from the generous community members. When combined with the weekend’s other charity events as part of the fire-aid fair, the weekend’s estimated grand total reached $40,000 dollars raised for the cause to help the Dollar Ridge Fire victims. Those funds are being managed by Duchesne County to distribute to the victims as they rebuild.
