Uintah County’s Dinosaurland Passport to Summer has been in play for the last 10 years and the amazing program has received a much deserved award. The Uintah County announcement shares that in 2015, Lesha Coltharp, Sylvia Wilkins and Devin Caldwell dreamed up a program that would give kids a way to stay active during the summer and support local businesses. Partnering with the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce for business development the Dinosaurland Passport to Summer Program was born. Now a decade of fun later, Dinosaurland Passport to Summer was awarded the 2025 Every Kid Outdoors Award at the Annual Outdoor Recreation Summit. “It’s an honor to accept this award on behalf of one of the coolest kids outdoor programs in the state of Utah,” shares Uintah County Director of Tourism Lesha Coltharp. “This program holds a special piece in my heart and I love seeing all the kids earn their stamps for things like swimming, riding their bike, hiking or even drawing on the sidewalk. Thank you to our hundreds of sponsors over the years and all those hard working moms that have driven miles and miles to earn the stamps.”
