While at the Dinosaur National Monument have you ever stopped to read the outdoor signs? Dinosaur National Monument refers to these signs as outdoor wayside exhibits and they are requesting suggestions for particular topics or stories that they can feature in new waysides throughout the Monument. For those that aren’t familiar, the outdoor wayside exhibits are a way for the park to “caption the landscape.” They can provide area orientation, safety and regulatory information, or highlight stories and features that may not be readily apparent. Even just recently several new waysides were installed by the maintenance staff in various parts of the monument. While visitation is lower, the interpretation staff will work over the winter researching and designing new waysides.
