Growth has slowed down in Utah as a whole but what about Uintah Basin Counties specifically? New state population data compiled by the University of Utah Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute reports that in 2024 Utah grew by 1.5 percent while growth in 2023 was 1.6 percent. Breaking it down by County, Duchesne County had a population increase of 58, amounting to a 0.3 percent increase. Daggett County had a population loss of 15, amounting to a 1.5 percent loss. Uintah County had a population loss of 312, amounting to a 0.9 percent loss. This put Uintah County as the highest loss in a physical count with Carbon County coming in second having lost 212 in their population, and Sevier County in third with a population loss of 192.
