DevPipeline, Utah’s only competency-based software apprenticeship and one that has a 100% employment rate of graduates, has been named the recipient of the Corporate Community Champion Award at the 2025 Utah Philanthropy Day celebration. DevPipeline, which has a location at the Innovation Hub in Vernal, was nominated by the non-profit ‘My Story Matters’. A December 11th news release shares that DevPipeline has become a catalyst for economic diversification in rural Utah communities like Vernal, creating high-tech jobs locally. The company received a Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity grant in 2024/2025 to expand across additional rural communities. “DevPipeline took away all the barriers,” said John Ipson, now a Systems Engineer at University of Utah working remotely from Vernal. “I have grown closer to my family as I am able to be with them more.” Amy Chandler, Founder of My Story Matters, says, “DevPipeline doesn’t just train software developers—it builds pathways to self-reliance, strengthens families, and uplifts communities across Utah. Their employees have volunteered to help the work of My Story Matters and are generous with their time and networks.” For more information, visit www.devpipeline.com.
