The Utah Department of Workforce Services has updated unemployment rates by county. Daggett County ended 2018 at 5.4 percent unemployment, up from 5.1 percent in November and 4.7 percent in December 2017. Duchesne County ended the year at 4.5 percent unemployment, down
from 4.8
percent one year prior. Uintah County ticked up slightly from the month before registering at 4.8 percent unemployment, down from 5.1 percent in December 2017. Nationally, unemployment measures at 3.9 percent unemployment while the state of Utah is averaging at 3.2 percent. Approximately 49,900 Utahns were unemployed and actively seeking work during December 2018. The next unemployment update is scheduled for
March 4th.
