The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office had sad news to report in a press release issued on Monday. According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home north of Roosevelt at about 8am on Sunday, August 5th, on a report of an unresponsive child at the residence. “When deputies arrived they determined the 2-year-old boy was deceased,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “His body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, as required by state law.” We join the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office in extending our condolences to all those affected by the boy’s death. No other information is available at this time.

*From the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office: An unattended death, as defined in Utah Code 26-4-2 (10) means “the death of a person who has not been seen by a physician within the scope of the physician’s professional capacity within 30 days immediately prior to the date of death. This definition does not require an investigation, autopsy, or inquest in any case where death occurred without medical attendance solely because the deceased was under treatment by prayer or spiritual means alone in accordance with the tenets and practices of a well-recognized church or religious denomination.”
