The Daggett County Sheriff’s Office has great advice that many in the community are well aware of but a certain demographic is not. The Sheriff’s Office reports that questions from concerned citizens have been coming in about a phone scam. The scammers are targeting the elderly members of the community telling them to “purchase gift cards from the Flaming Gorge Market and elsewhere. Victims are purchasing around $3,000 dollars in gift cards. Do not fall for this – it is a scam!’ There is no way to get back the money spent, shares the Sheriff’s Office. If anyone calls and is asking for money, contact the Sheriff’s Office before making a purchase and sharing personal information.
