Crews made great progress on the Bender Mountain Fire in the northeast corner of the state. Utah Fire Info reports that there was no new fire growth on Saturday and the acreage held at 4,104 acres. As of Saturday night, the Bender Mountain Fire was 70 percent contained. On Sunday morning, the management transitioned from a Type 3 to a Type 4 Incident Management Team and crews continued to monitor and reinforce containment lines. The fire began September 2nd on BLM land in Utah in the area where Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado meet. Within 24 hours it had grown to 2,500 acres and was reported to be human caused.
