Crews Continue to Battle Fires in the Greater Region

Fires continue to keep crews busy. In the greater region, firefighters in Rio Blanco County are working on the Red Canyon Fire on County Road 27. It is 1190 acres and remains at 0% containment. Structures remain threatened with one residence evacuated. The Whiskey Fire is on Rangely County Road 109 and is being held at 39.5 acres and with no containment reported. In the Meeker area, the Lake Cabin Fire is over 400 acres and there is no containment. The Seely Fire is 100 percent contained. The Indian Valley Fire has reached 6,310 acres and is 80 percent contained. Wildfires in southwest Wyoming are moving towards containment. The Laney Rim Fire, east of Rock Springs, grew to 7000 acres and is 5 percent contained. The Black Butte Fire, northeast of Rock Springs, is 70 percent contained and at 3,440 acres. The Well Fire and Big Ridge Fire are both completely contained.
