A work crew in grey t-shirts will be moving around Vernal City over the next several weeks as upgrades are made to the City’s water meters. According to City Treasurer Obern Mayes, these will not be Vernal City workers but the crew from the contracted company on the project. “They have to change each meter in the City and will be working in yards and around people’s businesses,” shares Mayes. “The company is PMI and they will be wearing grey t-shirts.” The crews estimate they will upgrade about 300 meters a day with the new radio read devices and the work will likely run into October. Mayes says the hope is to spread the word in order to minimize concern of citizens seeing work done on and around their property. Crews start work today and will be working Monday through
Saturday
during daylight hours. Water service will be unaffected.
