A Craig woman was arrested on Sunday after assaulting a police officer. At 12:18am, officers responded to a report of a homeless woman who was intoxicated and upset at a local hotel. The woman was with a man who was also intoxicated and upset. The officers found that the woman had two warrants out for her arrest and they took her in. While at the hospital being screened for transport to the jail, the woman became extremely agitated when the Doctors arrived, spitting at the officers and staff and making threats of physical harm to those around her. Back in the officer’s car, the woman began beating her head repeatedly against the vehicle. She was taken back into the Emergency Room where she was sedated. She was booked into Moffat County Jail on Monday morning charged with 5 counts of assault on an officer, among other charges.
