COVID-19 Update and Vaccine Information

The COVID-19 update from TriCounty Health issued on January 5th provides the latest local report on COVID-19. According to the report, there have been a total of 2,596 confirmed cases to date in the TriCounty Health District. Of these, 1,976 cases are considered recovered and 600 are active. The active cases break down to 4 in Daggett County, 372 in Uintah County, 157 in Duchesne County, and 67 within the Ute Indian Tribe. There have been a total of 20 deaths related to COVID-19 to date. Testing continues to be provided with 21,470 people tested so far. While testing is available at many locations, free COVID-19 rapid antigen testing just started up at Union High School and is free to everyone by registering at www.testutah.com. As of Monday TriCounty Health reported that they have received 400 COVID-19 vaccines so far and at that time 148 had been administered locally.
