As of Thursday, October 7th, TriCounty Health Department reported 7,672 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area to date, an increase of 55 new cases from the day before. According to Thursday’s data, there are currently 1,037 active cases which is down from last week, ending the multi-week upward trend and hopefully starting a new trend that will keep heading down. Over the past seven days, the tri-county area has seen 24 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and 4 new COVID-19 related deaths. The COVID-19 Transmission Index reports Duchesne County and Uintah County at the High Transmission Index Level and Daggett County at the Low Level. Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 21 percent and there were 359 cases in the past 14 days, Duchesne County was 24 percent with 296 cases, and Daggett County was 25 percent with 7 cases.
