COVID-19 Holiday Safety Tip: Planning The Gathering

by | Dec 22, 2020 | News | 0 comments

The safest holiday gathering in the year of COVID-19 is with your immediate household members, according to safety recommendations. If a household decides to proceed with a gathering realize that the more people from different households a person interacts with at a gathering, the closer the physical interaction is, and the longer the interaction lasts, the higher the risk that a person who has COVID-19 may spread it to others, whether he or she has symptoms or not. The Utah Department of Public Safety encourages safety measures for gatherings that are planned. Consider keeping things small by limiting the number of guests and encouraging virtual participation. Ask all guests to wear masks when they can not adhere to physical distancing standards, especially when indoors. Think about seating arrangements so that physical distancing is possible. Ask that people who are sick, people who are in isolation because they have tested positive, people who are in quarantine, or people who are awaiting test results do not attend. And finally, consider having a shorter gathering and maintain a guest list with contact information in case of notification because of exposure.
