The Utah Department of Workforce Services has provided the latest update on unemployment numbers throughout the state. According to the report, January’s unemployment in Daggett County increased slightly to 3.7 percent, down from 4 percent one year prior. Duchesne County stayed the same from the month before at 3.8 percent, down from 6.8 percent one year prior. Uintah County lowered slightly to 4.3 percent unemployment, down from 7.9 percent one year prior. January’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for the state of Utah is estimated at 2.2 percent with approximately 37,400 Utahns unemployed. Utah’s December unemployment rate was revised to 2.3 percent. The January national unemployment rate rose to 4.0 percent.
