A convicted sex offender has been arrested in Sweetwater County. Sheriff Mike Lowell says 43-year-old Jeffery R. Lewis of Rock Springs was booked into the detention center on Monday, charged with Failure of a Sex Offender to Report Change of Residence and Failure of a Sex Offender to Report Change of Employment Status. The Sheriff’s Office takes these violations seriously as a matter of public safety. Lewis was convicted this year of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Offenders are required to keep their information current so the Division of Criminal Investigation website is kept up to date for the state’s offender registry.
