Construction on New Roosevelt Library Making Progress

While it may not be obvious, construction work on the new Roosevelt library is well underway and national supply chain issues have not affected the project so far. Duchesne County Library System Director Daniel Mauchley (Mock-Lee) shares that crews have been busy working on the foundation and utilities. “If you’ve driven by it doesn’t look like a lot has happened but actually a lot has happened underground,” shares Mauchley. “Overall the estimated completion date is August 2022 so, if the material supply chains hold up for us, then we will look at having a Grand Opening around the time school starts,” he says. Right now crews are working to get utilities in and concrete done before the ground freezes. Once that is done, framing can begin and the day to day progress will be more obvious. In the meantime, library services will continue in the current library building that is now being considered as a possible location for a Roosevelt City innovation hub. Evans Family Media will share further details when more information is available on that possibility.
