If you’d like some freshly caught lake trout without putting in the work, the perfect opportunity is happening this weekend. Wyoming Game and Fish will be collecting lake trout donations from the Mack Attack fishing derby participants and will be giving them to anyone who wants them. “Fisheries management crews from Wyoming and Utah are concerned with the abundance of small lake trout in Flaming Gorge Reservoir and the impact they are having on numbers of juvenile trout and kokanee,” shares Robb Keith, Regional Fisheries Supervisor. “We are excited to work with our partners, like the owners of Buckboard Marina, to encourage anglers to harvest more small lake trout from the reservoir.” The donated fish will be available to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis at the big tan tent next to the Buckboard Marina store this Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 7pm and Monday from 10am to 2pm.
