The new community garden in Duchesne County is sure to bring joy and fill bellies and the Uintah Basin Association of Governments is offering thanks to the many volunteers and donors that made it possible. Volunteers from Enervest Operating were there early on with power tools and hammers in hand helping build the 15 garden beds in a single day. Workers from Peak’s Well Service reinforced the garden beds with hardware, stapled in the weed barrier, and sealed a picnic table. Tri County Concrete donated and delivered the top soil, IFA donated mulch, Suzi Prevedel donated compost, and Tonia Steffey donated weed barrier. Basin Rentals donated a skid steer with an operator who teamed up with workers from Atchee Oilfield to move the dirt and fill the beds. Finally, volunteers helped plant the donated plants from Basin Nursery, Split Mountain Nursery, and Allred’s Yard and Garden. There was enough plants to fill every box for a varied garden to be proud of! UBAOG offered their sincere thanks to all who took part.
