Colorado Fires Contained or Working Towards It

Wildfires in Colorado are getting under control thanks to hard working fire crews. The Pine Tree Fire in Moffat County has finally reached 100 percent containment this week. The fire was estimated to cover over 4,700 acres. The Deep Creek Fire started last week in West Routt County and the fire grew to over 400 acres in a very short timeframe. It’s believed that the lightning caused Steer Park Fire may have reignited resulting in the Deep Creek Fire which reached 4,000 acres before reaching 100 percent containment. The Big Red Fire located in northwest Colorado near the Wyoming border is 15 percent contained at last report. The lightning caused fire started on August 19th and has spread to over 2,900 acres.
