Get ready, Uintah Basin the holidays are about to hit full swing. Before we get there Ashley National Forest wants to remind people about Christmas Tree Permits. If you are looking to cut down a fresh and local Christmas tree be sure to visit the ranger district offices or local vendors
on Thursday, November 15th.
Permits are $15 with a limit to one tree per household. In planning your outing the Forest Service advises that people be prepared for winter weather and driving conditions. Be sure to cut the tree close to the ground and that the stump left behind is no higher then six inches. Cutting is forbidden within 200 feet of riparian areas, roads, campgrounds, picnic areas, administrative sites, summer home areas or within designated closed areas as displayed on tree cutting maps.
