An Amber Alert that was issued out of Carbon County over the weekend came to an end after the children were located. The alert was issued for two boys, ages 6 and 8, that were believed to be with Derek Michael Rowley, the father of the 8-year-old. According to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Rowley was in the Carbon County area and had a contact with law enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office reported that Rowley had made threats to family members that he would harm himself and the children. The Amber Alert was issued when it was believed he left the area with the boys. On August 21st, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office announced that after receiving hundreds of tips from the public, Derek Rowley was taken into custody in Elko, Nevada. Rowley was able to provide Elko County deputies with the location of the two missing boys and it was confirmed that officials were able to locate both boys and their mother. “The boys were in good health and are now safe,” shares the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation into the whereabouts of Rowley and the boys while they were missing is ongoing.
