The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release concerning a shooting in Uintah County that left a 3-year-old dead and a woman seriously injured on Monday. On December 14th, at 2:25 p.m. sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the area of Fantasy Canyon in central Uintah County. The initial report was that a 40-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy had been shot. The woman and boy were found by deputies west of state Road 45 on the Glen Bench Road. The boy was deceased and the woman, who deputies identified as the boy’s mother, received medical treatment on scene before being taken to a hospital due to the seriousness of her injuries.Circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated, as are multiple scenes. At this time, the sheriff’s office shares there are not any suspects at large, and there is no threat to the public. No additional details will be released at this time.
