Vernal Police announced Thursday that formal charges have been filed in 8th District Juvenile Court against the suspect in the September stabbing that resulted in the death of CalDee Reynolds and injured Kathy and Kyle Reynolds. According to Vernal Police, the investigation identified the suspect as a male juvenile and the juvenile suspect was incarcerated on unrelated charges shortly after the September incident. The formal charges filed on Thursday include Criminal Homicide Aggravated Murder, two counts of Attempted Criminal Homicide Aggravated Murder, and Aggravated Burglary. “The suspect will remain incarcerated pending further court proceedings,” shares Vernal PD. “Law Enforcement has been certain that our community has been safe, and has remained quiet until formal charges were filed to maintain the integrity of the criminal case.”
