Ceremony Planned for Reopening of Browns Park Swinging Bridge

by | Sep 4, 2018 | News | 0 comments

The Swinging Bridge at Brown’s Park has finally reopened and a dedication ceremony has been announced for later this month. The bridge closed in 2014 when a tractor, well over the weight limit, tried driving across and was left suspended above the Green River after breaking through. After several years of gathering funding and making plans, reconstruction began in late spring and the bridge was complete in August. The new bridge can accommodate over 5 times the previous weight limit. The use of the Swinging Bridge makes a big difference to Daggett County residents as its use decreases emergency response time by a significant amount. The Daggett County Commission announced in their monthly newsletter that they are happy to have the Swinging Bridge back in use and that a dedication ceremony will be held
on September 18th at 1:00pm
