It’s nearly time to celebrate Utah’s Pioneer Day holiday during which communities throughout the Uintah Basin will hold parades, celebrations, and fireworks. Here are a few bonus activities happening in Uintah County on Friday. The Pioneer Day Scout Breakfast will be held at the Colton Pavilion from 7 to 9:30am. The breakfast is sponsored by Troop 228 and is free but donations are greatly appreciated. The funds stay local and are used to support Troop 228. Another free family event is held on Pioneer Day at the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum on south 500 West in Vernal. The event starts after the parade and lasts until 2pm. The fun includes old fashioned games, pioneer skill demonstrations, free tours of the museum, and activities including gold panning, rope making, blacksmithing, and more. Finally, there is the Summerfest Community Celebration from 11am to 11pm at the Naples City Park. There will be live music, food, family fun, and fireworks.
