Studies have shown that eating dinner with your family reduces underage drinking, tobacco use, and drug misuse, while lowering suicide rates. That is one of the reasons there is a National Eat Dinner with Your Family Day. To celebrate this day, Roosevelt City’s Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee is partnering with the TriCounty Prevention Advisory Coalition to host “Eat Dinner in the Park” on Monday, September 28th, from 5-7:30 p.m. Families are invited to bring their dinner or to enjoy the food trucks that will be in attendance at Constitution Park. Also some local experts will be highlighting the new frisbee golf course with the first 500 people trying out the course receiving a free glow in the dark frisbee. The Prevention Advisory Coalition will be having a drawing for those that sign up at their booth. The event is still looking for local food vendors who will need to obtain a free special event permit from Roosevelt City.
