Relay For Life was held Saturday at Uintah High School.

On the brighter side, due to fires, our sunsets are absolutely breathtaking.

There was fellowship, food, and fun at St. James Greater Catholic Church in Vernal on Saturday for the 2018 Feast of St. James Carnival. All were invited and many were able to come enjoy delicious Mexican, Filipino, and Vietnamese food, as well as catfish fried by the Knights of Columbus. Vibrant traditional dances from Mexico were also performed.

Much needed rain is paying visits to the Uintah Basin this week.

On the brighter side, Evans Eagle Country KLCY and Davis Food and Drug Stores together with DRR Rodeo fans have gathered 1/2 ton of food for families who have been displaced by Dollar Ridge Fire. Food delivered to Duchesne Co. Food Pantry Friday.

Vernal City Councilman and business owner Ted Munford stunned the crowd at the annual Halloween Mayor’s Walk again this year with this jaw dropping creation. This is just one of the many similar Halloween costumes he has built over the years. Thank you Ted for this incredible demonstration of love for your community and our children over the years.

The Vernal Comic Con held at the Uintah County Library was tons of fun. Part of the fun was all the people who dressed up in costumes for the cosplay contest. The winners were recently announced after judges tallied the votes for the six different categories.

Ashley Elementary’s annual Accelerated Reader party was an epic site on Wednesday afternoon. Hundreds of students enjoyed outdoor inflatables, pizza, drinks, and prizes in honor of a school year of dedicated reading. Great job to all!
