Progress Continues on Daggett County/Dutch John Agreement

Officials continue to work together making progress on the Daggett County/Dutch John agreement. An update from the Daggett County Commissioners shares that as of their February 27th meeting, an agreement is in place for Daggett County to turn all the buildings, land, and equipment – including water and sewer systems in Dutch John – over to the Dutch John township.

According to the Uintah County Clerk/Auditor Office, an application has been received to gather signatures for “Fluoridation of the public water supplies for the Central Utah and the Ashley Valley Water Districts of Uintah County.”

Uintah School District Issues Message on School Safety Measures in Place

Uintah School District has issued a message on school safety measures in place in the District in light of recent school shootings and threats made at schools around the state in recent weeks. First, the District has physical security measures in place at each school that include all exterior doors remaining locked with the exception of the main door leading to the office.

No Closure So Far on 2018 Shed Antler Season in Utah

As of now, Utah will not have a closure on the 2018 shed antler season. Most of the surrounding states are issuing a shed gathering closure, shares Division of Wildlife Resources Outreach Manager Tonya Kieffer, which has the potential to flood Utah with shed hunters from surrounding states.

Vernal Regional Airport Planning Terminal Remodel

A remodel of the terminal building is among the items on the to-do list for the transition to SkyWest Airlines at the Vernal Regional Airport. According to airport manager Doug Brown, designs for the terminal remodel have gone back and forth with TSA but a final plan is basically there. “We hope to have a contractor selected by the end of March so construction could be done by the beginning of May,” says Brown.
