US National Weather Service Offering Free All Hazards Spotter Classes
Popular demand has allowed the US National Weather Service to offer two virtual All Hazards Spotter Training Classes to locals. The storm spotter program is a nationwide program with more than 280,000 trained spotters. These volunteers report weather hazards to their local National Weather Service office providing vital information when severe weather strikes.

Local law enforcement is asking the public for some help. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office requested public assistance on Monday in identifying a person of interest.
Roosevelt State Street Closure Planned
Pay attention if you’ll be traveling around Roosevelt. “Starting Monday, October 26th, State Street will be closed at the Maverik/Burger King intersection [in Roosevelt],” shares Roosevelt City. “Crews from Dominion Energy will be working in the area to install a new gas line. The closure is expected to last for approximately one week.
Work Continues on East Fork Fire
Work continues on the East Fork Fire north of Hanna in Duchesne County. The East Fork Fire started on August 21st. As of the Sunday report, the fire has reached 85,232 acres and is 69 percent contained. “The current road and area closure for the Ashley National Forest is subject to change due to fire behavior to provide for safe and effective firefighting operations,” share the Sunday update.

A fire at the Uintah County Landfill on Saturday night attracted attention with locals on social media taking note and sharing pictures. This seemed to be a repeat of an incident in early September when a fire at the landfill lit up the night sky raising concerns.
