KNEU 1250Progress continues on the Starvation Bridge construction. According to the update from the Utah Department of Transportation, crews are making progress placing the new surface treatment on the bridge deck. This treatment will provide waterproofing and traction to the roadway surface, preserving the bridge deck.
On Thursday, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 passed the House. Many of Congressman Blake Moore’s provisions advocating for Utah’s defense community were included in the passed legislation.
A major project to install a “Mega” guzzler in the Book Cliffs is finally complete. The Book Cliffs is a well-known hunting area but in recent years, deer, livestock and other animals in the area have struggled due to ongoing drought conditions limiting water sources and habitat, which provides shelter and feed, explains the Division of Wildlife Resources.
The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the help of the public throughout the region. A reward is being offered for the return of a stolen pickup truck and the prosecution of the person who stole it. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the truck was taken from the Helper area between September 18th and September 20th.
The Uintah County Commission approved proposed budget increases during a recent Commission meeting. County budget officer Mark Caldwell presented the budget items in need of adjustment.

The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation issued a press release on Wednesday announcing that it plans to seek further judicial review of a federal district court decision that dismissed portions of the Tribe’s lawsuit against the United States, the State of Utah, and the Central Utah Water Conservancy District, and transferred the Tribe’s remaining claims to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.

One delay came from the Lieutenant Governor's Office having an error on the certificate of creation but last week the Uintah County Commission received and approved the revised Certificate of Creation.
