KNEU 1250An escaped inmate had people and law enforcement on the lookout throughout the region after escaping police custody in Sweetwater County on Tuesday. 29-year-old John L. Ortega was being transported by private inmate transport vehicle from California to Cheyenne when he managed to slip his restraints and run while at a rest stop in Rock Springs.
If you were a bit surprised to see construction crews back on Highway 40 in Vernal you weren’t alone but don’t worry. The extensive construction as part of the storm drain project truly is complete and the return of crews this week is just some finishing work. UDOT representative Geoff Dupaix explains that crews are lining the new pipes under the road.
