KNEU 1250The United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling this month concerning the latest appeal by banished members of the Ute Indian Tribe. According to a press release from the Ute Tribe, four banished members turned to the Appeals Court after the District Court held in 2019 that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.
Uintah County has issued a notice that a Legislative Hearing will be held on March 31st at 9am. It will be conducted by the Uintah County Commissioners in the Commission Chambers.
The Uintah Conference Center continues to grow with 2021 reportedly being its biggest year yet. Uintah County Commissioner Brad Horrocks attributes the growth to Conference Center general manager Tracy Smuin and staff who “have worked hard to market the center to state and regional organizations for training and corporate conferences.

A free mountain goat viewing event will be held this Saturday, March 26th, near the Upper Stillwater Dam in the Rock Creek area.
Professor Dennis Garner will be retiring after being a lecturer at USU Uintah Basin since 1998. Garner’s long list of awards speak for themselves. In 2004, Garner was awarded the USU Uintah Basin Teacher of the Year award and was also awarded the Taggart-Ballard Award of Excellence.
The Uintah County Library will be holding a unique Creative Aging Art Class that starts on Wednesday, April 6th.
