TriCounty Health Department is advising residents to learn about the risk of Hantavirus and how to prevent potential exposure. The warning comes after the death of a Utah County woman to the virus earlier this week, the second Hantavirus caused death in Utah this year.

According to Field House Park Manager Steve Sroka, the word is still getting out that free information on the Vernal area is available at the museum.
Successful Ride for Children’s Justice Center Benefit
The Uintah Basin Back Country Horsemen annual Children’s Justice Center benefit was a success last weekend. Over 70 people participated in this year’s charity event held at the Lake Mountain trailhead on Mosby Mountain and according to organization board member Gale Robbins, the annual ride has raised well over $100,000 dollars in total donations over the 13 years of the event.

Numbers are up for the Duchesne County Fair Livestock show. According to 4-H Extension Coordinator Troy Cooper, there are 315 livestock exhibitors made up of 46 market beef, 117 market lambs, and 170 market hogs.

Repairs Planned for Aggie Blvd
The Uintah Transportation Special Service District has been reviewing bids for repair on a section of Aggie Blvd near the college campuses. According Chairman of the Uintah Transportation Special Service District Duane Shepherd, cracks in the road north of the Aggie bull statue were spotted, indicating water leaking beneath the roadway.
