One family’s Christmas tradition continues to warm hearts and hands every holiday season. This is the 12th year for ‘Carol’s Glove Tree’ on Brush Creek Road in the Jensen area. When the idea was first discussed, Carol and Asa Evans thought of maybe putting a wire out by the road to hang gloves on but ultimately decided to hang the gloves on a Christmas tree instead. The effort grew over the years with some years giving away around 300 pairs of gloves and some years reaching as high as 600 pair. The tree is set on the road near their home providing the Evans with a great view of the excited visitors during the Christmas season each year. Carol’s Glove Tree is all about spreading love with others during the holidays. All are welcome to come take a pair of gloves from the tree on Brush Creek Road in Jensen. If the sight of a glove filled tree isn’t enough for you, look for the sign that reads: “From our hearts to your hands. May your Holidays be filled with warmth. Please take a pair [and] Merry Christmas.” The gloves come with a small toy and candy cane. Many who enjoy this tradition bring a thank you card for Carol to hang on the tree in exchange.
