Cards 4 Kids at Heart Brightening Valentine’s Day for Local Seniors

Valentine’s Day can be exciting, dreaded, heart pumping and sometimes lonely. An effort to gather hand-written cards for local seniors has been a success and will easily make this Valentine’s Day a special one for all involved. The “Cards 4 Kids at Heart” project was organized by KLCY’s own morning show host Amy Richards in memory of her Grandma. “The last thing that I received from her was a hand-written card,” shares Richards. “I never had a chance to send her one back before she passed and I know in my heart, she would have loved one from me.” Amy’s team of helpers include Family Dollar in Roosevelt who donated 700 boxes of chocolates and the Utah Highway Patrol who made cards and will be helping deliver them. The Meals on Wheels programs in Duchesne, Roosevelt, Manila, Vernal and Rangely are also helping with the effort, delivering Valentine’s to the area’s homebound seniors. The community response was amazing this year with nearly 900 cards gathered. The KLCY family invites all to find a way to spread love to the seniors in your life this Valentine’s Day.
