A standoff in Carbon County was assisted by multiple agencies on Friday, including the Utah County SWAT Team armored vehicles and Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter. According to the Price City Police Department, a collaborative effort between local, state, and neighboring law enforcement agencies was utilized in taking an individual safely into custody at 6:29pm on June 6th. “The individual was armed with multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition,” shares Price PD. “The suspect previously made comments about getting in a ‘shoot-out’ with police. The suspect, Rogelio Bustillos, was located in an isolated area near the clay banks of an old mine road near Kenilworth. Mr. Bustillos was arrested and booked into the Carbon County Jail on charges which include aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault, which stems from an incident that occurred at a residence in Price [Thursday] morning.” Price PD also responded to those who were frustrated that law enforcement was not keeping the public informed during the operation, stating that “it was imperative the suspect was not alerted to or had any idea we knew of his location before law enforcement engagement.”
